Friends of the museum.

Early in 2008 several people met together to form a steering group for the recently opened Thetford Dad`s Army Museum.It was decided that after the initial success a different type of organization was needed .Following a meeting on March 27th the Friends of Thetford Dad`s Army Museum was founded,a constitution agreed and a committee set up.

The Friends was established for the charitable purpose of the advancement of education about the television program Dad`s Army,the Home Guard and Thetford`s military connections for the inhabitants and visitors to Thetford,Norfolk.

We aim to:

a) Promote Thetford`s links with Dad`s Army through operating the Thetford Dad`s Army Museum and other related events.

b) Advance the education of the public about the program,Thetford and the area`s military connections through providing information,displays and sources of reference.

There are 8 other committee members & 2 co-opted members.

There are several sub committees,tour,web site,newsletter and statue

 

Membership of the friends is £5 for individuals,£10 for overseas individuals, £10 for groups & £25 for corporate.

All friends receive a membership card and newsletter.
